TAR HEEL HUSH PUPPIES

1 pkg. Redi Mix® Corn Bread Mix

oil

1/2 cup milk or water

1/2 cup Southern Biscuit® Self-Rising Flour

1 egg

1/4 cup chopped onions


1. Heat deep hot fat fryer oil to 375 degrees.

2. In medium size bowl, add milk or water, Southern Biscuit® Self-Rising Flour, egg, onions, and Redi Mix® Corn Bread Mix.

3. Stir until well blended. Let batter rest 10 minutes and stir.

4. Spoon batter, using spoon dipped into hot oil, into fryer.

5. Fry at 375 degrees until each side is golden brown. Hush Puppies may need to be turned once for even browning.


Yield: 25 to 30 medium hushpuppies
